Stephen Eaton

Stephen Eaton is a seasoned family lawyer and mediator, currently serving as a partner at Lighthouse Family Law LLP in Toronto. With a passion for delivering compassionate and proficient legal representation, Stephen has dedicated his career to helping families navigate the complexities of family law with dignity and respect.

Stephen’s legal education commenced at York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School, where he first met his future business partner, Jessica Polis. Their shared commitment to client-centered legal services led them to co-found Lighthouse Family Law LLP. Stephen also holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, equipping him with a unique set of skills that are invaluable in managing complex legal and financial family law matters.

His legal expertise is extensive, with considerable experience arguing cases at both the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. This experience underpins his capacity to handle high-stakes litigation and complex legal challenges effectively. Additionally, Stephen is an active executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Family Law Group, further demonstrating his commitment to the advancement of family law in Ontario.

Before his tenure at Lighthouse Family Law, Stephen started his own practice in 2013. He has also served on several tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Fire Safety Commission, showcasing his broad expertise and commitment to public service.

On a personal note, Stephen was born in New Brunswick and now enjoys life in Toronto with his wife, son, and their dog. Stephen boasts an unbeatable prowess in James Bond-related trivia.
